Most of the time our guards are quietly watching the entry, checking who should be inside, helping with car parking and making sure small issues do not become big ones. Guests enjoy themselves, the host does not have to play bouncer, and anything that starts to look off is dealt with before it spoils the night.
For 25 years, Strategic Security has provided security for private functions across Queensland — birthday celebrations, weddings, engagement parties, private music events and more — as well as major public events such as Big Day Out and Splendour in the Grass. Planning that starts well before the first guest arrives
A wedding reception is not the same as a concert, and a backyard 21st carries different risks to a business conference. Before your event we talk through the venue, guest numbers, timings, alcohol service, entry points and any known concerns, then recommend the number of guards and where they will be positioned. On larger events we work with your event manager, the venue and, where needed, police and emergency services.
On the night, our guards arrive early, walk the venue, confirm exits and meet the host or duty manager. They manage arrivals, keep an eye on guest behaviour and handle problems quietly — one client told us gate-crashers were dealt with so quickly and professionally that she did not find out about them until they had already been sent away. That is the standard we aim for at every event.

It depends on guest numbers, the venue, whether alcohol is served and the type of event. A small private party may need one or two guards, while a large public event with a bar needs a team of licensed crowd controllers. We will recommend numbers after a quick chat.
Can security be discreet at a wedding or private function?
Yes. Our officers can dress and behave to suit the occasion, staying in the background while keeping an eye on the entry and on guest behaviour. For family functions and VIP guests, a low-key approach usually works best.
Do you provide security for 18th and 21st birthday parties?
Yes — they are some of our most common bookings. Our guards manage the guest list, keep gate-crashers out, keep an eye on alcohol and help make sure everyone gets home safely.
Can you handle cash at our event?
Yes. Event packages can include secure handling and transport of gate, bar and merchandise takings. See our cash-in-transit service for details.
How far in advance should I book?
For weekends, formal season, Christmas and New Year's Eve, book as early as you can. We can often help at shorter notice too — call 1300 792 800 and we will tell you what is available.
Do your guards have first aid and RSA training?
Our officers are first-aid trained, and our crowd controllers understand responsible service of alcohol, so they can support your bar staff and look after any guest who needs help.
